Captain America actor Tom Holland has spoken out about the bond between him and Zendaya, calling her “the best thing that has ever happened to me.”
Appearing on the “Dish” podcast on Wednesday, Holland shared that the two plan on celebrating Christmas together this year with Zendaya’s side of the family, too.
“I am gonna be in America this year, I’ll be with my girlfriend’s family, which will be fun. A location for where we’ll be is yet to be disclosed,” he said this to the hosts of the podcast, Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett.
I think what we would like to begin to do is perhaps instead of going and spending time with each family for an entire year, to gather all the families together. That’s what I think we want to do next time,” he added.
‘This time we are both actors and that is why we are hopeless at organising anything.’ So it hasn’t happened yet. The thought’s there. The idea has been planted.”
During his Christmas plans conversation and while talking about his own cookery skills, Holland, who plays Spiderman, said he is ‘starting to experiment a lot in vegetarian recipes’ because Zendaya is a vegetarian.
“I happened to be in Boston the last few weeks and she is working so I got to do most of the dinners. And they haven’t been great. He said ‘There has been a few ‘let’s just order-ins.”
I cook a really, really tasty chilli con carne. I’ve really get into doing chilli con lentil. And it’s actually really good,” he added.
The pair, who met while filming “Spider-Man: While for quite some time now both Cumberbatch and Miller collaborate in a number of films, including the drama “Homecoming,” the pair have tried to keep their romance as private as possible, though occasionally they discuss it in interviews or post the occasional photo on their social media accounts.
Asking him how they each handle such fame defined their relationship as “such a strong couple of Zendaya and me… in terms of being able to connect with each other with something that is so, so rare,” he explained.
Speaking about the benefits of appearing alongside one another onscreen, Holland said it was a “saving grace” that they had each another, adding: “Greatest thing that’s ever come into my life.”
“It’s just that perfect thing when you’re on set and a director will give you a note that maybe you don’t agree with, or I know that she doesn’t particularly like, and it’s just that like familiar glance at each other of like, ‘can’t wait to talk about that later,’” the British star said.
And in terms of business it is also very efficient to have the two friends working together. “Studios love it, one hotel room,” Holland joked.
The couple filmed three ‘Spider-Man’ movies together and is going to appear in the next Christopher Nolan’s movie.
“It hasn’t started shooting. “To be perfectly honest with you, I don’t know anything about it,” Holland said. It is still very secretive and secretive on all aspects. I met with him. It was awesome. Well he sort of vaguely got it across to me what it was. And I am pretty sure that if he is ready, he will be announcing what it is.”
